Thom Micro Systems Limited (TMS) is a company registered in Scotland with company number SC075023.

We were established in 1981and have been providing IT solutions to small and medium enterprises in Scotland and the UK for over 25 years. We remain privately owned, self-financing and profitable. Our average annual turnover is approximately £3.1m (based on the past 3 years) and we have shown a profit every year.

We employ experts from a variety of different fields, including engineers, programmers and applications specialists. Staff turnover is low, which enables us to provide the element of continuity required for successful long term relationships.

TMS was established in Alloa, Central Scotland in 1981 by brothers Dr John Thom and Dr James Thom. They combined their years of experience in business, engineering and technology to compete in the newly emerging micro computing market, utilising the new technology to design and apply affordable computer systems for business and industry.

TMS quickly established a reputation for quality and reliability, and became one of the leading IT suppliers in the area. Our in house software development team successfully launched the first version of Elite, our own range of business and financial software, and we gradually expanded the scope of our services to include a wide range of hardware, software and support options.

From then until 2003 we continued to grow, opening new offices in Edinburgh, Irvine and Harrogate. As part of our expansion we acquired Computer Enhancements Ltd in 2000, a specialist in supplying to the academic sector.

In 2003, we centralised our operations, moving to a purpose built location in Larbert.

Today, we continue to provide quality IT solutions to clients throughout Scotland and the UK. Although our product range is continually evolving to meet the needs of an ever changing environment, the key element of our success never varies. We consistently provide an affordable, dependable service and our clients know that they can rely on us.
